Comprehensive Voice & Performance Program

Children and teens create special memories as they carol in the Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, at shopping malls, in retirement homes and at private parties. Who can participate? - Audition Information.
Children and teens ages 7-14. Contact Brett Mutinelli at to set up an informal audition time. Singer will be asked to sing a simple song (like "Jingle Bells"). Requirements to be in the group are 1. most importantly good pitch, 2. willingness to practice 3. strong commitment to participation. Singers will rehearse once weekly from mid-September through November. Performances take place end of November through mid-December.  Students will receive CDs and lyrics to practice with at home.

What will they wear for caroling?
Skirts, hoops and capes will be provided by YSC.  Students will need to have their own white blouse and black shoes. Outfits for boys black tux.

Are the songs hard to learn?

Singers will learn traditional carols and fun Holiday songs that are easy to intermediate. They will work on harmonizing and blending. Practicing with a CD at home help the memorizing process.

How many performances do they have?
We sing in the SB Holiday Parade, at malls, at retirement homes and various other events.  Singers need not sing at every event. There will be a sign-up process on shutterfly for each event, and families can choose which ones work for their schedules.  The 2017 Caroling Calendar will be on the far right of this page.

Will there be additional practices?
There is an additional practice on the Monday evening of parade week, in costume, to prepare for walking in the parade.

What is the cost?
The all-inclusive tuition is $355. This includes rehearsals from end of September through December with  performances, the costume loan and all extra practices and materials. Tuition can be paid in three installments. Partial scholarships available.
