About Us
Singer/Voice Teacher/YSC Owner/Director
I grew up living in Germany with American parents
singing opera as a full-time career. I received my Bachelor
of Music from UCSB, after having studied voice and opera
at the Wiesbaden Conservatory in Germany. I continued
taking lessons and master classes and performed in
recitals, operas and shows through the 1980s and started
teaching private voice in 1992.

The idea for Young Singers Club (YSC) was born when
my 10 year-old daughter and her girl-scout friends needed
a vocal coach and I saw how quickly and effectively these
talented young people soaked up my instruction.  I started
YSC as a program devoted to quality vocal instruction for
children and teens, in 1998.  I love working with voices of
all types and abilities, and especially enjoy hearing and
seeing the difference that just a few voice lessons can
make!  I like to put on a good show, but also to keep
things straightforward, simple, and affordable.

I like to make classes, lessons, and choirs age-appropriate
and fun, yet skill-building and effective.  Hope to see your
child in classes or camps soon!

Sarah Lopez
Singer/Choreographer
Sarah Lopez has had a love of music ever since she was
born, and a love of performing ever since she first stepped
on stage at a Young Singers Club summer camp
performance at the age of 5.
She has continued her vocal training as well as dance
training since 1998.  These skills have combined perfectly
with her love of working with children as a choreographer
and voice teacher and working at Young Singers Club.

Leslie Cook
Singer - Bachelor of Music
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and I believe that
people of all ages can find joy in singing and making music!

I recently earned my B.A. from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of
Music, where I had many wonderful opportunities to perform in
concerts, recitals as well as fully staged operas. My passion lies with
classical music and opera, but I also love singing jazz, broadway and
pop and I am more than happy to work with you on any style of
music you want to sing.

Bryan Lane
Bryan Lane
Singer/Actor
Bryan is a recent graduate of Westmont College with a B.A. in
music with a vocal emphasis. He has been singing since he could
speak and started formal music training around age 5. His love for
both music and theater has taken him on tour across the country
singing and performing with a young Christian performing troupe.
At Westmont College he combined his dual love of music and
theater as a Vocal Performance Major. As a soloist he has
performed with the Westmont Choir, Santa Barbara Master
Choral, and at his church All-Saints-by-the-Sea. In the opera
world he has performed with the Not So Royal Opera Company,
Opera Santa Barbara, and with Westmont. He has a special love
for the Classical repertoire, but doesn’t like to pick favorites when
it comes to music. He also holds a special place for jazz, blues,
soul, folk, contemporary, alternative, pop, rock, rhythm n’ blues,
and ethnic music in his heart. He yearns for the opportunity to
share his love of music and self-expression with his students as
they grow and mature into creative individuals.
